July 2016

On July 5th we bought a 34' Forest River Rockwood travel trailer, which Roy and I will live in full-time in Alabama. If you know us, you will know we name our vehicles.  Over the years we have had: Gus the VW bus, Stan the GMC van, Forester the white Ford truck, Hermonine the Honda Civic,   and now Tom the F-150 truck.  So we have christened the trailer: Rover, which means "wanderer".
We picked up Rover on Wednesday and left TX on Thursday, July 7th.  Tom pulls it OK, but we get about 6mpg. Yikes!
Rover and Tom ready to go

Roy is working on a short term project just outside of Omaha Georgia, across the Chattahoochee River and a little north from Eufaula, where we are living in the Lake Eufaula Campground.  He has about a 40 minute commute each way.  Thankfully the project has provided him with a big Ford 350 diesel truck to use.  Alabama is on Central time so our living room/kitchen clock is set to local time.  But as soon as Roy crosses over the river, he is in Georgia and on Eastern time, so our bedroom clock is set to Eastern time.  What a crazy life we lead!
Rover is cozy and actually roomy in the living room with the two slides out.  Marilyn assures us we will appreciate the small electric fireplace when we have a chilly morning.  Whenever that might be!
Eufaula is hot but thankfully, not as humid as Houston.

all set up in our campsite

After getting settled, I sprinted off/drove to Virginia to help Becky for a week while Gerald was in Provo attending summer classes.
