Today we left Amman and drove South to the Dead Sea on the Jordanian side.

The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth - 1348 ft below sea level.
Roy was the first one in the water! It is a very strange feeling to just sit down in the water because you expect to sink and you don't. One truly bobs like a cork. In fact, it's down right hard to put your feet down to stand up - you have to get in position and thrust your feet and legs downward. FYI - the water tastes awful!!! and we were warned, don't touch your eyes! Very painful. One of the younger men dunked his head under and didn't hold his nose closed and was in great pain.
Obviously several of us opted for an impromptu Dead Sea mud treatment. Cost about 5 Dinars (USD$ 7)
Soft and smooth afterwards. We washed off in freshwater showers.
