My new year started off with a long over-due sinus surgery on
January 15. Apparently my sinuses were full of polyps, I had a deviated septum, I could barely smell, and my sense of taste wasn't all that great. I later asked Dr. Chimenti (ENT doctor, aka "Mr. Sinus"), on a scale of 1-10, what were mine? Seven. OK. Prior, to surgery, I had heard all the horror stories, but all in all, it really wasn't too bad. And as I write this in August,
it was so worth it! I can now smell, taste, and breathe through my nose!! Hallelujah!

In fact I felt well enough to go on a little road trip to Washington on the Brazos State Park, just northeast of Brenham (~one hour drive?). It was here the Convention of 1836 was held and the signing of the Texas Declaration of Independence took place. The name "Washington-on-the-Brazos" was used to distinguish the settlement from "Washington-on-the-Potomac".

I finished Ellie's quilt.
The sun was warm one Saturday and we took a bike ride down in Brazos Bend State Park and look who we found out enjoying the winter sunshine too.....

I dropped some big hints last Fall and Roy bought tickets to see The Piano Guys. It was a GREAT show. I think half of our Ward was there. Thank you Woody!
We finally went to the Funeral Museum, not too far from our house in Spring. Have been seeing the sign for 7 years now. It wasn't too creepy at all.

and I drove to Baton Rogue to meet up with the Fowkes's on Spring Break visiting friends there while Roy was working in Edmonton, Canada.
