Australia Zoo newest volunteer

Alex applied and was accepted this last week to be a volunteer at Steve and Terri Irwin's Australia Zoo (AU beloved Crocodile Hunter). The Zoo is about 60 km north near the town of Beerwah. I think if you know Alex, he is a very happy bloke! As a volunteer he cannot handle any animals but he comes close. He helps with crowd control during some of the shows, has been on "poop" patrol in the Roo Heaven, cleaned glass in the reptile house and today, babysat a sleeping koala (Chloe). He already knows all the crocs and aligators on display by name, can tell you the difference between a red and gray kangaroo and that "Lily", a reticulated python is already 7 meters long and still growing. He just finished his 5 training days; taking the train to Beerwah and will probably volunteer a couple of days a week.

Wow! How fun is THAT? We are all jealous of such a fun volunteering gig. Except for the part about the python which totally freaks me out but Ethan thinks it's pretty cool.
