This is the front of our house which is in a small northwest suburb of Brisbane called Wavell Heights. It is a style called a Queenslander that is usually raised and has a veranda which we do on three sides. The second picture is our view of downtown Brisbane from our long side veranda (it's closer in person!) Not, bad, huh? It's spectacular at night! The picture below is our Outback Subaru, Sue, in our carport. We always name our cars.
Yes, I know, very strange.We are within walking distance of a large Mall, (with grocery stores!), a nice library and our chapel; and with petrol currently at $1.44/liter, which is how they sell it over here, or $5.78/gallon, we walk whenever and whereever we can! Roy rides the bus to work - usually only taking 20-30 minutes.

We are having heavy rain in NH More like fall and spring than summer.
My Aussie friends checked out your blog as made this comment back to me: I checked out your friend’s blog. It is lucky for them they have moved in the winter to Brisbane because they have a little time to acclimatize a bit. Come summer it will get very hot and sticky with a fair amount of thunderstorm activity though maybe not so much rain as Aus is still in its very long standing drought. Then they will understand why the ‘Queenslander’ style house is built up on stilt type foundations with verandahs all around. Very much Florida weather. They were very fortunate to travel business class…wish we had half their luck!
